Where to Have The Best Churros in Marbella: A Local’s Guide

When it’s a bit cool, and we’re approaching autumn and winter, or it’s raining, I can’t find a better activity than having churros con chocolate with friends.

The thick and silky hot chocolate, paired with perfectly crunchy and soft on the inside churros, goes down a treat. It’s just comfort food and warms you up.

Luckily, Marbella has some great churrerías, aka coffee shops specialised in making churros, and I’m covering my favourite churros in Marbella in this guide.

Best Churros in Marbella

1. Churreria Ramón

Churros from Churreria Ramon in Marbella Old Town.

Churrería Ramón is one of the most popular cafes serving churros in Marbella, and I can confirm it’s famous for a reason!

First, I love the setting! It’s in the beautiful Plaza de los Naranjos, known as Orange Square among travellers.

They don’t have indoor tables, but I truly don’t mind, as I would rather sit outside and eat churros while people watch and enjoy the atmosphere.

The tables have big umbrellas, so whether it’s really hot and sunny or a bit rainy, you’re covered.

The churros are delicious, and Churrería Ramón has been awarded the best place to serve churros in Marbella. Order a rueda if you plan to eat with a few friends, as it’s big enough to share.

While the churros con chocolate are a must, I highly recommend trying their freshly squeezed juices on a hot day.

My favourite is the watermelon juice, which is only available in the summer.

📍Address: Calle Valdes, Pl. de los Naranjos, 1, 29601 Marbella, Málaga, Spain

2. Churrería Marbella

Churros with chocolate in Churreria Marbella.

Churrería Marbella, situated in Plaza de la Victoria, is my favourite churros place in Marbella.

As happens with Churrería Ramón, it doesn’t have indoor seating. However, there are quite a few outdoor tables available.

My partner and I usually order the half rueda with two hot chocolates, and it’s more than enough.

The churros are cooked to perfection. They’re crunchy, soft and light despite looking the opposite. The hot chocolate is smooth and silky, and it pairs perfectly with the churros.

Plaza de la Victoria is one of the main squares in Marbella, but it isn’t as busy as Plaza de Los Naranjos, so this cafe gets a little less busy.

They also serve freshly squeezed juices, which I haven’t tried yet.

📍Address: Pl. de la Victoria, 29601 Marbella, Málaga, Spain

3. Chocolatería San Ginés Marbella

If you’ve been to Madrid, you probably recognised the name of this churros place. It’s the most well-known churrería in Madrid, and the one in Marbella is actually a franchise.

Although I prefer the other two churrerías mentioned above to this one, I love that San Ginés has indoor seating, which is beautiful and perfect for cold winter days.

The prices are slightly higher because of the reputation of the brand, but the churros and hot chocolate don’t disappoint.

📍Address: Calle Buitrago, 24 Junto a, Pl. África, 29601 Marbella, Málaga, Spain

4. Churrería Generalife

Churros with Spanish hot chocolate from Churreria Generalife, Marbella.

A stone’s throw from the Contemporary Spanish Engravings Museum, Churrería Generalife is a classic local’s go-to place for churros. It may not look the most modern or pretty of cafes, but if you’re after delicious churros and sandwiches, you won’t be disappointed.

The prices are low, considering that one churro costs 0.50 euros, sandwiches start from 1.80 euros, and juices are about 2 euros.

The normal churros are delicious, but I also like their churros filled with sauces like Nutella, white chocolate and Dulce de Leche.

Overall, Generalife coffee shop has one of the most affordable churros without compromising flavour.

📍Address: Arte, C. Málaga, 3, 29603 Marbella, Málaga, Spain

5. Churrería parquesol

Similar to Churrería Generalife, Parquesol has a local vibe that resembles a traditional Spanish coffee shop, albeit without the fancy decor.

But, if we focus on the churros, it’s among the best cafes just outside the old town

You can enjoy the traditional chocolate con churros or try other combinations like churros with Kinder, honey and white chocolate.

Besides churros, they offer other breakfast options, including sandwiches, eggs, croissants, and more.

📍Address: Av. de Nabeul, 14, Edificio Parquesol, Local 10, 29601 Marbella, Málaga, Spain
