Dune Beach Marbella: Restaurant Review (2025)

Dune Beach restaurant ticks all the boxes for its beautiful aesthetics and laid-back atmosphere. Its bohemian décor gives you all the good vibes for a great lunch with friends, family, or your other half.

And the location is spot on! It’s right on the beach, so if you fancy spending the day there and eating something tasty, Dune is perfect. Whilst it isn’t in the centre of Marbella, it’s a short drive.

It was my friend’s idea to try Dune Beach restaurant, and I’m glad we did.

If you want all the ins and outs, I’ll share what the food and service are like and the price based on my experience.

Location

Dune Beach restaurant is in El Rosario, outside Marbella City, but only a 10-minute drive towards Cabopino.

It’s next to a residential area and right on the beach, exactly on Playa del Río Sequillo.

The location is absolutely beautiful and it feels a bit more secluded than other beach restaurants in Marbella. It’s surrounded by golden sand dunes with a little bit of vegetation and the beach.

It’s a good place to have a meal and relax at the beach, so if you want to sightsee a little bit, I recommend spending some time in Marbella Old Town before heading to this area.

This restaurant, opened by the creators of the famous Ocean Club, is worth checking out, but something to note is that if you drive here, you’ll likely struggle to find a space as locals don’t have a car park and park on the street. My friends and I spent some time trying to find a space.

If you aren’t driving to Dune, you can order an Uber or take the number 6 bus from Marbella Centre. The stop is called Alicate, and from there, you can walk about 10 minutes to the restaurant.

Opening times:

  • Monday: 11 am to 6 pm
  • Tuesday: 11 am to 6 pm
  • Wednesday: 11 am to 6 pm
  • Thursday: 11 am to 6 pm
  • Friday: 11 am to 8 pm
  • Saturday: 11 am to 8 pm
  • Sunday: 11 am to 8 pm

Food and drinks

The menu is a bit all over the place and what I mean by this is that there isn’t a clear cuisine that stands out. You find anything from local grilled fish to Asian-style dishes, salads and steak.

However, there’s nothing wrong with it from my point of view as you have a wider variety to choose from.

My favourite menu section is the sharing dishes. In fact, one of my friends and I ordered the chicken BBQ and chips. My other friend opted for steak and salad.

The chicken BBQ consists of chicken skewers, coconut fried rice and peanut butter sauce served on a rounded wooden board. The flavours were clearly inspired by Asian cuisine with the combination of spices used in the chicken and peanut butter sauce.

It was very tasty and enough for two people. Although if you’re very hungry, you might want to have it to yourself or order for two but adding a side or a starter.

I didn’t try my friend’s steak but it looked really good, and she did say it was spot on.

Dessert-wise, they sound health-ish and light. There aren’t many dessert options that stand out. My friend and I went for the baked yoghurt. It was nice but small and nothing special. I suggest choosing a different dessert.

We didn’t try any of the alcoholic options, but they have a wide range of drinks, from top-notch champagne to craft cocktails. If you don’t fancy drinking, you can also find mocktails and refreshing smoothies.

Service

The service was great at all times from the moment we went into the payment.

The waiter was very friendly and took care of us. He was attentive and talkative, too.

The drinks came quickly, and we didn’t have to wait long for our main courses.

I must admit that it wasn’t busy on that Saturday, so the experience might be different if you go on a weekend during peak season.

In addition to great food and atmosphere, Dune Beach offers sunbeds for rent starting at 40 euros. The rentals include towels and waiter service.

Whether you want to eat or spend the day on one of their sunbeds, I highly recommend booking in advance on their website .

Price

The bill was around 130 euros, and we were three people. The total order included two bottles of water, a smoothie, a sharing dish, two sides, a salad, steak, a dessert and a coffee.

Considering the location, the décor and the type of food, it isn’t too expensive, but it isn’t the sort of place I would visit every weekend.

You can find cheaper places to eat in Marbella, and I share my favourites on this list.

Conclusion on visiting Dune Beach Marbella

Is it worth it? Personally, I think it’s a lovely restaurant, and the location is unbeatable, so I say yes.

I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who wants to try Spanish food, but if you’re up for international flavours and aesthetically pleasing décor, you’ll love it.

However, as I said, it isn’t the type of place I go every weekend because of the price. It’s a nice treat or great to celebrate a special occasion.
