My Review of Pizzeria Picasso Marbella

If you’re looking for a good place to eat Italian food in Puerto Banus, I’d recommend Pizzeria Picasso.

This lovely restaurant, which opened in 1982, is a popular option, and it’s for a reason. You can’t go wrong with Pizzeria Picasso, whether you fancy a generous bowl of pasta, pizza or steak.

My fiancé and I love eating out in Marbella and recently visited the restaurant, so I’m going to share my experience with you.

The location

Pizzeria Picasso in Puerto Banus, Marbella.

The restaurant is in a fantastic location, just in the heart of Puerto Banus, the most glamorous port in the city. Seeing this area is one of the unmissable things to do in Marbella although I do prefer the historic centre.

Pizzeria Picasso is one of the restaurants on the main avenue, and you might be lucky enough to get a table opposite the sea and luxury yachts.

The atmosphere and decoration

The atmosphere at Pizzeria Picasso is vibrant and lively. It’s a popular restaurant, so the chances of it being empty are very low.

I see it quite busy every time I walk in Puerto Banus.

Unfortunately, they don’t take reservations, but the service is quite quick, and you’ll likely get a table.

I literally waited for two minutes before being seated, and the restaurant was packed.

It’s very spacious and has many tables. I love the tables next to the trees, where you’ll see little birds flying around, but if you get near the bar area you’ll be surrounded by beautiful paintings.

The food

The menu is very extensive. You’re spoilt for choice. You can order anything from pasta and pizza to meat, fish and burgers.

We had a hard time deciding what to eat. The menu is pretty big, and many dishes sound good. We love seafood, so the prawn pasta dishes tickled our fancy, but Chicken Alfredo and Lasagna are always good options, right? You can’t go wrong with these.

After asking the waiter for a couple of more minutes to order, we opt for Our Chef’s Special and Fettucine Gamberetti.

Both pasta dishes were huge, to our surprise. We didn’t think the portions were going to be so big. We really liked the food, but felt like we could have eaten with only one bowl of pasta.

The pasta was al dente and flavourful. There were also plenty of prawns too!

While the food was great, I would personally have preferred a smaller portion. I feel like the pizzas are more manageable, and if you don’t want it all, you can always take it away.

We eyed the pizzas at the table next to us and will go back to try them. They look really good.

Service

The service was on point. We sat down, and one of the waiters came straightaway to make a note of drinks. After bringing our drinks, another waiter came a few minutes later to take our food order. Funnily, we had to ask for an extra few minutes to decide which dishes we wanted.

Maybe it was my experience, but the service was quick despite the restaurant being almost complete on a Friday lunch.

Price

I think it’s fair to say that Pizzeria Picasso has reasonable prices, considering the location and food portions.

Two drinks (water and Fanta), a starter and two main courses were 54 euros.

I’m not bothered about alcoholic drinks and barely drink, but if you do, cocktails and sangria jugs could ramp up the cost of your meal.

Cocktails are about 15 euros each, but I must admit they look good.

Conclusion

Is Pizzeria Picasso worth it? I’d say yes. The only downsides I would highlight are the large portions (I felt bad leaving so much food), and the crowds, if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, I don’t mind that.
