About

Hola, I’m Cristina Reina,
a Travel Expert and founder of My Little World of Travelling, a blog about travelling to Malaga, my hometown, and beyond.

I’m here to help you plan your trip to Spain by sharing exclusive local insights, detailed destination guides and hidden gems.

My Little World of Travelling tells you everything you need to know about travelling to Malaga, its surroundings, and other beautiful Spanish destinations.

You can find everything from detailed itineraries, must-see attractions, and hidden gems to food and culture to help you have authentic experiences in Spain.

Whether you plan to go on a road trip through Southern Spain or make Spain your new home, I am your go-to resource.

I have helped thousands of travellers from around the world every month discover a side of Spain that only locals like me know.

What makes My Little World of Travelling different from other Southern Spain websites?

First, I’m a local. I was born and brought up on the Costa del Sol and have been travelling around Andalucia since I was a kid. I have done most of my studies in Malaga. Although I also spend time in the UK because my partner is from there and I love travelling, I also continue to explore my hometown and its surroundings with my family and friends.

Second, many websites are filled with inaccurate or very generic information. On My Little World of Travelling, you’ll only find guides on destinations I have personally visited. I don’t use AI, and you won’t see AI-generated images on my website.

Third, I’m in love with my city and other Andalusian destinationsand I’ve been writing about them for over 5 years. Although I showcase the best of each location, I also give you my personal and honest opinion.

About Cristina

I was born and mostly raised in Costa del Sol. Having lived there for years, I can give you the best local tips – from where to eat and stay to the best places to visit (including hidden gems).

I decided to create this blog to share my knowledge and beautiful places in my hometown and country.

Although I could’ve written it in Spanish, my love for languages, especially English, motivated me to write my travel guides in English. Having a partner from the UK and friends from different parts of the world, I know other cultures very well, especially what British travellers need to know about my hometown and country.

When I was a kid, I lived in different parts of Spain due to my dad’s job. I moved from Malaga to Sevilla, Sevilla to Zaragoza, and Zaragoza to Malaga. Although I didn’t enjoy moving around the country at the time, it taught me many lessons at a young age.

Moving around Spain and later abroad (to the UK) to study for a Master’s Degree in Tourism and Hospitality made me appreciate all the incredible things Malaga and the rest of Spain have to offer.

Since then, I haven’t stopped exploring my local area, Malaga (because no matter how long you live somewhere, there are new places or hidden gems to see), and other parts of Spain.

The truth is that Spain is diverse, and every region has something unique to offer, whether it’s food, festivals, impressive landscapes or historic buildings.

But I have a soft spot for Andalucia because it’s home to me. It’s the region I know and have travelled the most in. I simply love how much culture and history we have (oh, and the food!)

As we say in Spain, there’s no better cook than your grandma, and that’s so true. She’s the one who made me fall in love with Andalusian cuisine, especially the typical dishes of Seville, as she’s from there.

Travelling the whitewashed towns in Southern Spain is one of my favourite activities; each has something unique. However, if you ask me which towns are my favourites, Marbella (some people think it’s overrated, but it’s home to me and I love its most authentic side, the centre), Mijas Pueblo, and Vejer de la Frontera are at the top of my list.

I’m on a mission to show you the beauty of Spain!

A few random facts about Cristina

  • I studied for a Translation and Interpreting Degree at the University of Malaga. I love languages, so I can keep conversations going in Italian and speak Spanish and English fluently.
  • I have worked as a Spanish Teacher abroad.
  • I love my home country, but I also like exploring the world and learning about other cultures, so I often travel. Some of my favourite adventures were in New York, Bali and Paris.
  • Despite being a Spaniard, I hate olives. When I mention this to someone, they don’t get it.
  • Food is very important to me. One of the things I love the most about planning a trip is looking for good places to eat. I take it very seriously.
  • I absolutely love dancing (and singing, although I’m really bad at it!)
