9 Fun Family-friendly Activities in Marbella
Whether you’re planning a family holiday to Marbella or you live here, you’ll find fun and family-friendly activities for all ages.
Little ones can play in playgrounds, children can burn off energy at the beach or in bouncy castles, and teens can enjoy their time at an adventure park.
In this family guide, I’ve included the best activities in Marbella for children, as well as where to eat and where to stay.

Best family-friendly activities in Marbella
1. Play at Parque de la Represa

Marbella has a reputation for being expensive, but I love that you don’t have to spend money to enjoy activities with your children. A simple but good place to visit is the parks.
There are many parks, including Parque de la Alameda, Parque de la Constitución, and others, but the one I think is best for families is Parque de la Represa. Not only is it big, but it has different activities.
For example, the little ones always enjoy watching the turtles in the ponds; to be honest, we love this too, while the most adventurous spend most of their time in the playground. On the upper side of La Represa, you’ll also find a small skate park where teens have fun with friends.
This park also hosts many events, so it’s more than just a park; it’s a gathering spot for us locals and others to celebrate days like New Year’s Eve.
“What about the other parks you’ve mentioned?” Parque de la Alameda is quite small, and aside from a temporary carousel, it isn’t the kind of park kids would really enjoy spending time in. However, Parque de la Constitución has lots of green spaces where you can have a picnic. I sometimes see kids celebrating their birthdays there.
2. Go to Pirate’s Park

As you walk down Avenida del Mar, you’ll find Pirate’s Park on the left side. This amusement park has bouncy castles and other attractions to keep kids entertained, especially those under 10. While it isn’t very big, attractions are relatively cheap, and there’s a seating area for adults.
You can order a cup of coffee and chat with your other half or a friend while the children have a blast sliding and jumping in the soft play areas.
3. Spend time at Playa Venus

There’s no summer holiday to Marbella without hitting the beach. Luckily, most beaches have excellent facilities and are suitable for families with children. One of the beaches to highlight is Playa Venus in Marbella Centre. It’s a very accessible location, well equipped with showers and public toilets, and nearby restaurants and bars for a meal or a cool drink on a hot summer day.
Playa Venus also has a playground, which is perfect for kids who are quite active and often get bored playing in the sand.
Another popular beach for families is Cabopino Beach, a short distance from Camping Cabopino, a low-cost accommodation with a pool and good facilities.
If you’re travelling with teens or young adults, you can hire a pedalo or try other water activities.
4. Challenge yourself at Aventura Amazonia
Do you have a little adventurer in the family? Aventura Amazonia is a great adventure park for kids and adults alike. It’s in the Elviria area, in a natural setting, with lots of fun activities to keep you busy for a few hours.
The park is divided into different routes, each with its own difficulty, age range, and challenges. Let’s say you take your 4-year-old to Aventura Amazonia. The best route is the Minikids one, which includes one zipline and 16 different challenges.
I totally believe this place is better for children over 8 and those who really like the challenges and being outdoors.
It isn’t rare to see birthday parties and even bachelor parties.
5. Go on the Artola-Cabopino hiking trail

Not many guides mention the beautiful hiking trails in Marbella, and if you love an easy walk you can do with children, the Artola-Cabopino trail is a good option.
It starts at the Artola Dunes monument, and the coastal views are so beautiful. The walk is flat and accessible, including for wheelchair users, with its wooden boardwalk.
It’s definitely worth adding to your Marbella itinerary, but I’d avoid hiking there in summer, as it gets too hot and the area is busier with holidaymakers soaking up the sun on the beach.
6. Skate at Marbella Urban Skatepark

If skating is one of your teen’s favourite activities, the Marbella Urban Skatepark is somewhere you want to check out. It’s a short walk from the Marbella bus station and the Club Med Magna Marbella Hotel.
It wasn’t opened long ago, so you can expect ramps and other obstacles for riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced riders.
It’s quite spacious and a great hub to meet locals and travellers.
7. Paint with Little Picassos
Painting is such a fun activity, especially when there’s a group of kids doing it. It’s worth checking out Little Picassos during your trip to Marbella. They organise the children’s version of a sip-and-paint!
The best place to look for their events is on their Instagram page. You can expect a variety of locations across Marbella and themes, from painting your pet to Harry Potter, K-Pop, and more.
It’s the perfect plan to let their creativity flow and have a good time while you have some food or drinks.
8. Grab an ice cream

Whether it’s hot and you need to cool down or you want to take them for a treat, there are plenty of good ice cream parlours in Marbella. One of my favourite places is Giselia in the city centre. It has a wide variety of flavours and lactose-free options. However, they also serve crepes and cakes. Outside the city centre, Charly Cook is a good choice (they have rolled ice cream!)
9. Spot animals at Selwo Aventura

I don’t often go to zoos, but if I had to pick only one place to see animals on the Costa del Sol, I’d go for Selwo Aventura. This safari-themed park isn’t exactly in Marbella, but in Estepona. But it’s only a 20-minute drive from Marbella, so it’s a good day out for families.
I’ve been to Selwo Aventura as a kid and as an adult, and I really enjoyed my time there. First of all, animals are in semi-captive conditions, meaning they have much more space than in average zoos, which is great to see. Secondly, I really like how it’s on the mountainside; you walk and take in beautiful scenery. Last but not least, it has fun activities for all ages.
The exhibitions are great for children and adults. You learn about animals and sometimes interact with them. I really like the bird of prey exhibition, but the adventure zone is fun too. I was brave enough to take the zip line once.
Selwo Aventura also has on-site accommodation: Selwo Lodge Hotel, which makes you feel like you’re in Africa without leaving the Costa del Sol.
Where to eat with kids in Marbella
Tragabuches

My favourite family-friendly restaurant is Tragabuches, run by renowned local chef Dani Garcia.
The food is top-notch. I love that the menu is focused on locally sourced ingredients and authentic Andalusian flavours. I’ve enjoyed its Andalusian menu and couldn’t fault it.
But talking about children, there’s a kids’ menu and a large playroom where they can play games and burn off energy.
It’s a very kid-friendly place to eat, regardless of its sophisticated design and beautifully presented food.
Da Bruno Ristorante

If you love Italian food, Da Bruno is a good option for families. While the location isn’t central, if you want to stay in the Cabopino area, it’s ideal.
There are other Da Bruno restaurants across Marbella, but it’s this one that has a children’s playground.
Ammo
This beach restaurant in San Pedro de Alcántara has all the boho vibes and is family- and dog-friendly.
You can have a lovely meal with sea views, and the little ones can play and paint in the kids’ area.
If you have fussy eaters, the kids’ menu has options to suit them: burgers, pasta, and chicken fingers.
Family-friendly accommodation in Marbella

Camping Cabopino
If you’re looking for a family-friendly accommodation and atmosphere, Cabopino camping is a great option.
The bungalows feel cosy and are well equipped with kitchenettes, flat-screen TVs, private bathrooms, and balconies.
The campsite has a large pool, and the best thing for families is its daily activities, which cater to people of all ages. In the winter, you can join Spanish lessons, yoga and nature-related activities, while in the summer, you can expect a wider selection of activities, from theme nights to water activities, climbing and more.
Hapimag Marbella
This aparthotel in the centre of Marbella is ideal for longer stays, but also for those looking for something that feels like home, with a kitchen and other facilities rather than a hotel room.
If you’re on a budget or have fussy eaters, you can also cook in their fully equipped kitchen. They also accommodate babies by providing baby equipment upon request.
The resort has a pool, a restaurant, and a kids’ club, among other things. At an additional charge, you can have your bed made and your apartment cleaned.
Marbella Club
If you’re looking for a stylish and luxurious stay with children, Marbella Club is a top-notch option.
The hotel rooms are beautifully decorated and have everything you might need. If you’re travelling with family, you can request connecting rooms.
However, the highlight for families with children is the kids’ club. They can do anything from gardening to art and crafts, and paddle surfing.
Conclusion: Is Marbella child-friendly?

I think Benalmádena is more family-friendly than Marbella, since it offers more attractions for children and can be more affordable.
However, I hope this article has proven that you can also do things with children in Marbella. If they love the outdoors, the parks and beaches are always a good place to take them, and it’s important to remember that you don’t need to spend money to have a good time.
