Travel Planning Resources
Are you ready to start planning your trip to Southern Spain?
These are the travel platforms, apps, and tools I use for myself, friends, and clients.
Flights
Skyscanner
I often travel between Malaga and Northern England, so I use Ryanair or Jet2 for cheap flights, and I book them directly through their app.
However, for other destinations, I start with Skyscanner. If you’re travelling on a budget and don’t mind the destination, I highly recommend their “Everywhere” tool. It tells you the best fares from your chosen airport to other destinations. It’s the best way to find good deals.
Accommodation

Booking.com
My go-to accommodation platform is Booking.com. I use it all the time, and when you join their loyalty program, you can get discounted stays, free taxi rides and other perks.
Another alternative I like checking is Expedia. However, the prices don’t differ much between these two platforms.
Transportation

Omio
Omio is a good travel app for comparing and booking trains and coaches. When searching for getting from X to Y, you’ll see whether the train or bus is direct, the duration, the company and other useful information.
Discover Cars
While you don’t always need a car when visiting Spain, as public transportation is generally good, renting a car gives you the freedom to explore beyond the main cities and attractions. If you love visiting off-the-beaten-track places, such as the Andalusian white-painted villages or natural parks, I totally think you’ll need a car. Some places aren’t well connected by train or buses.
Also, who doesn’t love a good road trip?
Tours and experiences

Get Your Guide
Whenever I look for tours, I head to GetYourGuide. They offer thousands of experiences and tours worldwide. I’ve booked several activities with them, and I’ve always had good experiences. Alternatively, you can check Viator, but most of the time they have the same or very similar tours.
GuruWalk
They offer free walking tours in many destinations. It’s great to experience tours for free! However, I always love leaving tips for the guides to show appreciation for their knowledge and time.
Voice Map
If you prefer audio walking tours, Voice Map is a great option. I sometimes don’t want the crowds of a group tour or to rush places to keep up with the guide, so I follow an audio tour I can do at my own pace, anytime I want. Purchase your preferred tour, download the app and play it when you’re ready to start.
I’ve partnered with Voice Map and even created an audio tour to Marbella.
Travel insurance
SafetyWing offers flexible, affordable travel medical insurance in 180 countries, including Spain, and you can buy it while already travelling.
Some of the best things about SafetyWing are that this travel insurance is made for nomads by nomads, and you receive 24/7 support if needed.
SafetyWing Nomad Insurance includes medical assistance as well as travel coverage for travel delays, lost checked luggage and natural disasters, among other circumstances.
Stay connected with others
Holafly
eSIMs are a game changer! If you want to stay connected at all times and don’t want to rely on free WiFi at hotels and restaurants, you should check out eSIMs. I recommend Holafly. I used it during my day trip to Morocco. It worked well and was affordable, too!
You can get 5% off any Holafly travel eSIM when you use my discount code: MYLITTLEWORLD.
Travel Blogging
If you’re a fellow blogger, my favourite resource that can help you increase your income is Travelpayouts. Join via my link to get up to $100.
