Fun Ways To Celebrate Your Birthday In Marbella
Are you celebrating your or someone else’s birthday in Marbella?
Well, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Being from the area, I’ve celebrated my birthday in Marbella and have had a fantastic time every single time.
I think it’s a great birthday destination for adults.
Whether you’re celebrating your 18th or 50th birthday, there’s something for you – from dancing the night away to having brunch with friends or enjoying a pamper day with a plus one.
I’ve compiled a list of the best ways to celebrate your birthday in Marbella, including my preferred activity.

Best birthday activities in Marbella
Brunch with friends
There’s always a good reason to have brunch with friends, but even better when it’s someone’s birthday.
Nothing can beat Eggs Benedict, Açai Bowl (like the one above!) or Avocado on Toast and some mimosas or your favourite non-alcoholic drink.
I’m always on the hunt for new places to have brunch. I love the concept, especially on weekends.
Many cafes in Marbella serve delicious brunch, and let me tell you, it’s difficult to pick only one place.
Rachel’s Eco Love, Rosas Cafe, Manuka and Kafein are some of my favourites.
The first three have locations in Puerto Banus and Golden Mile, whereas the latter is in the historic centre of Marbella.
Rachel’s and Manuka have flavourful and healthy options, including yummy açaí bowls.
Rosas Cafe stands out for its decor and cakes, and Kafein for its croissants.
Take a boat trip
Boat trips in Marbella are very popular for hen and birthday parties.
Just imagine yourself taking in the views of Marbella’s luxury port, Puerto Banus, and mountains whilst listening to music and having a drink.
It’s a great activity for a party of two or a group of friends looking to have fun.
I highly recommend booking a private boat tour. Yes, it’s more expensive, but you won’t have to worry about other people.
If you go with a group of friends, look for those who might have a live DJ or water activities like snorkelling to make it even more entertaining!
Book a Sip and Paint experience
I’m not a drinker, but I sometimes enjoy a glass of wine, and if you do too, I’m sure you’ll enjoy a sip and paint experience.
Let your creativity shine while sipping a glass of wine in good company.
You don’t need to have any painting experience to attend one of these events.
The important thing is that you and your group have fun.
I had wanted to do this activity for a long time until I was invited to a craft and wine event. I took a friend with me, and we really enjoyed it.
I can see myself booking another experience like this soon.
I’ve personally tried the one in Casa Pablo, and it was a hundred per cent worth it.
Another sip and paint organiser that is very popular is Vino Picassos Marbella. They also have fun painting activities for kids!
Party at a beach club
Is your birthday anytime between May and September?
Then, you’ll be able to spend a day at a beach club on one of the most important days of the year!
The beach clubs in Marbella scream sophistication everywhere you look.
If you ask, what’s the best beach club? My answer is Nikki Beach for a group of friends and La Cabanne for a romantic birthday.
La Sala By The Sea is also a good option.
Wherever you end up going, make sure to book in advance.
Also, my advice is to check the rules on the club’s website. Some places don’t allow certain accessories or clothing items.
Canoe in the Benahavis River
Another adventurous activity, besides climbing walls and going on zip lines, is walking on the Benahavis River.
Book a canoeing tour like this one to learn about the beautiful natural surroundings and make the most of the river walking experience.
Unfortunately, this activity is only available during the summer.
Discover the local cuisine with a cooking class
As a foodie, I love learning new recipes, and if you or the person you’re celebrating their birthday also do, a cooking class in Marbella is such a fantastic idea.
Grab your friends and book a cooking class like this in which you can learn how to cook paella or delicious Spanish tapas, including some Andalusian dishes!
If you have an allergy or intolerance, let them know as soon as you book the cooking experience so they can be prepared.
Have a relaxing spa day
Marbella is home to five and four-star resorts with excellent spa facilities.
Puente Romano, Hard Rock Hotel and Marbella Club are a few of the many hotels that have spas.
Book in a few hours to simply unwind and disconnect from the outside world.
You also have the option to have a massage, facial or any other wellness treatment.
This is great for anyone who wants time to themselves or with a partner.
Picnic on the beach
What if you hired a company to set up a picnic for you?
You can forget about the hassle of buying and preparing your own food and packing dishware.
Companies like Picnic Marbella and Southern Spain Picnic offer unforgettable experiences.
Picnic Marbella can set up the picnic for you in your desired location. Beach or mountain, you choose.
They have packages with different food options, and there’s also an option to add things like a Polaroid camera, a bottle of champagne, flowers and more.
It’s ideal for couples or groups of friends who aren’t interested in the party scene.
Engage in adventurous activities
If you prefer outdoor activities, have a look at MarbellaAmazonia for a full day of adventure and adrenaline.
This is a good birthday idea for kids and adults.
Be ready to climb walls, get the zip line, slide and more.
Book a dining experience
You deserve to treat yourself and even more on special occasions like your birthday.
One of the things I love about Marbella is the food scene. No matter what cuisine I want, I’ll likely find it here.
If I want an unforgettable dining experience, I’m taking myself and others to a restaurant in Marbella.
I can guarantee you find fantastic Michelin-star restaurants like SKINA and those that elevate authentic Andalusian cuisine like Tragabuches.
I absolutely love the latter.
Take a cocktail masterclass
We’re all used to being served cocktails, but what about making cocktails for ourselves or others?
A cocktail masterclass is a fun and engaging birthday activity to do with friends.
Be taught by a cocktail expert so you can recreate your go-to drink and try to impress others at your next house party.
All of this while having a blast.
Go on a day trip from Marbella
While you don’t need to leave Marbella to have a fantastic birthday, the city is surrounded by so many charming towns and villages.
If you like cultural activities and wine, if I were you, I would go to Ronda.
The town has beautiful historical houses, museums, top-notch wineries and good tapa bars.
Other great excursions from Marbella include Malaga, Gibraltar and Mijas Pueblo.
Malaga is best for museums and historic buildings, Gibraltar is best for shopping and nature with its Upper Nature Reserve, and Mijas Pueblo for a traditional village experience.
Conclusion on the best birthday celebrations in Marbella
There are many ways to make your birthday special in Marbella.
Some activities are only available in the summer, and it’s important to know that January and February are pretty quiet.
Many restaurants and other businesses close in those months.
If you plan to come during those two months, I actually recommend looking for another destination unless you want a pretty chilled and quiet day.
