5. La Fonda Heritage Hotel Luxury, Relais & Châteaux

⭐ 5-star hotel | Review: 9.2/10 | View on Booking.com
If you want to stay in the charming old town of Marbella without compromising luxury, La Fonda Heritage is the perfect choice.
This 5-star Marbella hotel is part of the Relais & Chateaux chain, but despite being a chain, the building is unique because of its location and architecture, which takes you back to the 16th century.
The hotel is home to 19 gorgeous rooms that are spacious and bright, and their decoration has been inspired by local craftsmen who are praised for their attention to detail.
Each room has beds with luxurious bedding and pillows, a private bathroom with a shower or bath, a flat-screen TV, a safe, a kettle and air conditioning. Depending on your chosen room, you can also have a terrace or balcony.
The hotel has a main restaurant called Jane Restaurant, serving Mediterranean dishes prepared with local produce. It also has another cafe and a rooftop bar where you can sip cocktails while enjoying the sunset.
However, you have many other food options since you will be in the historic centre, so you don’t necessarily need to eat at the hotel.
The main downside is that it doesn’t have as many facilities as other 5-star hotels in Marbella. Nevertheless, you are a 10-minute walk from the beach.

⭐ 5-star hotel | Review: 8.9/10 | View on Booking.com
Meliá hotels are fantastic, and although I haven’t stayed in this particular one, I’ve passed it many times on my walks in Marbella Beach Promenade. I’ve actually stayed in the Melia Hotel in Torremolinos and was quite happy with my experience.
Not only does Don Pepe Gran Meliá have a good location, but the hotel is stunning. It’s on the beachfront and a few minutes walk from La Alameda Park and the historic centre.
The rooms have a simple decor but all the amenities you need, from king-size beds and silky pillows to private bathrooms with luxury toiletries, flat-screen TVs, high-speed WiFi and a Nespresso coffee machine with capsules.
Depending on your chosen room, you can enjoy beautiful views of the mountains, garden or sea.

8. Gran Hotel Guadalpin Banus
⭐ 5-star hotel | Review: 8/10 | View on Booking.com
If you want to stay near one of the most exclusive areas in Marbella, Gran Hotel Gauadalpin Banus is a good choice. It’s a short distance from Puerto Banus and next to the beach!
This luxury hotel offers different types of rooms, from single to double and suites. All rooms are cosy and comfortable and have all the comforts you would have at home – spacious beds, TVs and ensuite bathrooms with complimentary toiletries and baths. Most rooms also have a terrace, so you can wake up and enjoy the sea views.
Regarding facilities, you can find a Mediterranean restaurant, a gym, a sauna, a shop and a large swimming pool.

9. The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa, Benahavis, Marbella

⭐ 5-star hotel | Review: 8.3/10 | View on Booking.com
The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa is a good option for families who want to relax and disconnect from their daily routine. This 5-star hotel in the Benahavis area has one of the best golf courses in Costa del Sol.
The rooms are spacious and elegant and have comfortable beds that ensure a good night’s sleep, private bathrooms with a shower and a bath, balconies overlooking the gorgeous gardens and golf course, and TV with international channels, among other amenities.
The hotel has two fantastic restaurants serving Andalusian and Mediterranean dishes and a bar next to the swimming pool open during the summer.
Besides the golf course, another highlight of The Westin is its spa. The spa’s Moorish decor is incredibly beautiful and offers a wide range of wellness treatments.
If you come with kids, you’ll be pleased to know that a kid’s club has sports facilities to keep them entertained.
I also love the fact that it’s pet-friendly and working to follow the best sustainable practices.

10. Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavís Marbella Resort
⭐ 5-star hotel | Review: 9.3/10 | View on Booking.com
Anantara has to be one of the best luxury hotels in Marbella.
The building and surroundings are perfect for anyone who wants to stay away from the crowds. Despite being considered a Marbella hotel, it’s actually outside the city centre, between Marbella, Benahavis and Estepona.
Each room has been decorated with attention to detail, from the wall colours matching every element of the room and furniture to the softest and silkiest of linens. They all include king beds, ensuite bathrooms with rainfall showers or bathtubs, TVs and coffee machines.
If you travel with your family, many rooms can be connected, making the experience more comfortable for everyone. Also, you have the option to book one of their spectacular villas with a private pool and gorgeous views of their Tuscan-style gardens.
One of the highlights of this hotel is its three golf club courses, but you’ll also love its gardens, spa, swimming pool and Roman amphitheatre.
Staying at Anantara Villa Padierna Palace is really an unforgettable experience. One of the downsides is that you will need to rent a car to explore Marbella and its surroundings.

Final thoughts about these Marbella 5-star hotels
Overall, Marbella has fantastic accommodation options if you want to treat yourself and others to a lavish hotel experience.
I personally love Puente Romano because of its location, restaurants and atmosphere, but Anantara and Boho Club are gorgeous, too.
My top advice is to pick your hotel by considering the location. For example, if you want to stay close to Marbella’s Old Town, go for La Fonda Heritage Hotel Luxury or El Fuerte.
In contrast, if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre, book your stay at The Westin or Anantara.
Also, don’t forget to explore the beautiful coastline and historic old town! Some of these hotels are huge, and you might feel like staying in, but it’s worth getting out and immersing yourself in the place.
Enjoy your trip to Marbella!
