Who doesn’t love those extra luxury touches? Plus, Marbella offers plenty of fantastic activities to enjoy during your holiday. You can enjoy a drink alfresco in a Michelin-star restaurant, take in the lively atmosphere at the old town, play golf or pamper yourself at the spa.
As a local, I can guarantee you that Marbella is more than a luxury destination, but if you’re into the glamorous lifestyle, this article is for you.

Nobu Hotel Marbella is one of the world’s small luxury hotels. This laid-back luxury hotel is ideal for a romantic getaway.
My husband and I stayed for a night at Nobu right after our wedding, and it was the best gift we got from a friend. We just wish we spent more time there. You can read about my full experience in this article.
The rooms have simple but beautiful decor and are well-equipped with king-size beds, a comfortable sofa to relax and watch TV, a safe, coffee and tea makers, and a private bathroom with all the amenities you could imagine (I didn’t even know they had hair straighteners!).
Although Nobu is perfect for couples, it also accommodates families and large groups. You can stay in their Nobu Family Junior Suite (sleeps 6) or 4 Bedroom Suite (sleeps 8).
For facilities, Nobu has a gorgeous adult-only pool area with sunbeds (photo above), several restaurants (including their renowned Peruvian and Japanese restaurant), and a lively nightclub where you can dance the night away.
I love their wide variety of restaurants. However, if you fancy room service, they have amazing signature dishes delivered to your door!

Marbella Club Hotel is one of the most beautiful 5-star hotels in Marbella. Located on the beachfront, between the city centre and Puerto Banus, it is in a tranquil location but close enough to both destinations.
The hotel is perfect for couples but also has a children’s club, making it popular among families.
Marbella Club has beautifully decorated rooms with comfortable king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms with luxurious toiletries. They also come with a flat-screen TV with a wide range of channels, a coffee machine, and air conditioning to keep you cool on the hottest days in Marbella.
All the rooms feature a private terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea or lush gardens.
The facilities at Marbella Club are outstanding, and you have everything you need inside the resort.
It has five restaurants serving dishes from around the world, including local dishes, two luxurious pools, a spa, and a golf course.
Their Thalasso Spa is one of the best spas in Marbella. It overlooks the sea, and you can have many lavish spa treatments or relax in their sauna.
Since it is on the beachfront, you have direct access to the beach, and you can enjoy their fantastic beach club and watch the sunset at the pier.

3. El Fuerte Marbella

El Fuerte Marbella is one of the city’s most emblematic hotels. It was built in a historic building with gorgeous architecture. The hotel combines style with cosiness while being on the beachfront.
The rooms at El Fuerte are beautifully painted and decorated with pastel colour elements and tiled floors. Each room has king-size, comfortable beds perfect for a good night’s sleep, spacious bathrooms with complimentary toiletries and bathrobes, a TV, a kettle and coffee machine, and air conditioning.
Regarding facilities, you won’t be disappointed. El Fuerte is home to a wellness centre with a spa to pamper yourself, three restaurants and swimming pools.
The breakfasts at the hotel are exceptional. You can have anything from quick bites, like fresh pastries and a smoothie, to a nine-course breakfast (available to guests who book the breakfast experience via their website or call centre).
The pool area is also worth mentioning. They have plenty of comfortable sunbeds where you can spend the afternoon, along with a pool overlooking the sea.

The resort offers an Andalusian experience with luxury extra touches. You have everything you need within the resort, from 15 different restaurants, nightclubs and a wellness centre to botanical gardens, a tennis court and four pools. In addition, your room will be a stone’s throw from the beach.
The rooms are decorated with beige, white, and warm colours that match perfectly. They offer everything from comfortable, spacious beds to private bathrooms, minibars, flat-screen TVs, and air conditioning. They also offer balconies with garden views.
Alternatively, if you want to travel with your family or a big group of friends, you can rent their gorgeous villa with a private pool.
By staying at Puente Romano, you feel like royalty. The staff is welcoming and will help you with anything you need, including organising some private tours to explore Marbella and beyond.
5. La Fonda Heritage Hotel Luxury, Relais & Châteaux

If you want to stay in the charming old town of Marbella without compromising luxury, La Fonda Heritage is the perfect choice.
This 5-star Marbella hotel is part of the Relais & Châteaux chain, but despite being part of the chain, the building is unique because of its location and architecture, taking you back to the 16th century.
The hotel features 19 spacious, bright rooms, and its decor is inspired by local craftsmen praised for their attention to detail.
Each room has beds with luxurious bedding and pillows, a private bathroom with a shower or bath, a flat-screen TV, a safe, a kettle and air conditioning. Depending on your chosen room, you can also have a terrace or balcony.
The hotel has a main restaurant serving Mediterranean dishes made with local produce. It also has another restaurant and a rooftop bar where you can sip cocktails while enjoying the sunset.
However, you have many other food options in the historic centre, so you don’t necessarily need to eat at the hotel.
The main downside is that it doesn’t have as many facilities as other 5-star hotels in Marbella. Nevertheless, you are a 10-minute walk from the beach.
6. Boho Club
Best for couples and solo travellers

The Boho Club is a chic hotel in Marbella, a few minutes’ walk from Puerto Banus Beach and port. I’d say it’s a fantastic option for couples!
Their rooms are modern, fun, and so picturesque! Each room is equipped with spacious beds, a bathroom with a rainfall shower, TVs, coffee and tea facilities, and air conditioning. I also love the fact that they are soundproof.
While the rooms are decorated with attention to detail, the bungalows will exceed your expectations. You’ll love their extra-large beds, stunning living area and porch, perfect for enjoying a coffee or tea with your other half in the morning.
Boho Club has a restaurant serving Mediterranean dishes, with vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options. The restaurant has also been awarded for its breakfast, which is considered one of the best in Spain. I can’t vouch for that as I haven’t tried it yet.
Other excellent hotel facilities are the outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre.
7. Hotel Don Pepe Gran Meliá
Best for couples, families and beach lovers

Meliá hotels are fantastic, and although I haven’t stayed in this particular one, I’ve passed it many times on my walks on the Marbella Beach Promenade. I’ve actually stayed in the Meliá Hotel in Torremolinos and was quite happy with my experience.
Not only does Don Pepe Gran Meliá have a good location, but it is also stunning. It’s on the beachfront and a few minutes walk from La Alameda Park and the historic centre.
The rooms have a simple decor but all the amenities you need, from king-size beds and silky pillows to private bathrooms with luxury toiletries, flat-screen TVs, high-speed WiFi and a Nespresso coffee machine with capsules.
Depending on your chosen room, you can enjoy beautiful views of the mountains, garden or sea.
If you’re asking yourself, well, what about facilities? The hotel has six on-site restaurants, a swimming pool and a wellness centre.
This beach resort also offers activities for the little ones and other fun things to do for families.
8. The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa, Benahavis, Marbella

The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa is a good option for families looking to relax and disconnect from their daily routines. This 5-star hotel in the Benahavis area has one of the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol.
The rooms are spacious and elegant, with comfortable beds for a good night’s sleep, private bathrooms with a shower and a bath, balconies overlooking the gorgeous gardens and golf course, and a TV with international channels, among other amenities.
The hotel has two fantastic restaurants serving Andalusian and Mediterranean dishes, and a bar next to the swimming pool open during the summer.
Besides the golf course, another highlight of The Westin is its spa. The spa’s Moorish decor is incredibly beautiful and offers a wide range of wellness treatments.
If you come with kids, you’ll be pleased to know it has a kids’ club with sports facilities to keep them entertained.
I also love that it’s pet-friendly and works to follow the best sustainable practices.
9. Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavís Marbella Resort

Anantara has to be one of the best luxury hotels in Marbella.
The building and surroundings are perfect for anyone who wants to avoid the crowds. Despite being considered a Marbella hotel, it’s actually outside the city centre, between Marbella, Benahavis and Estepona.
Each room has been decorated with attention to detail, from wall colours that match every element of the room and furniture to the softest, silkiest linens. All rooms include king beds, ensuite bathrooms with rainfall showers or bathtubs, TVs, and coffee machines.
If you travel with your family, many rooms connect, making the experience more comfortable for everyone. Also, you have the option to book one of their spectacular villas with a private pool and gorgeous views of their Tuscan-style gardens.
One of the highlights of this hotel is its three golf courses, but you’ll also love its gardens, spa, swimming pool and Roman amphitheatre.
I also love Anantara during the holiday season, as it offers some great Christmas activities!
Staying at Anantara Villa Padierna Palace is really an unforgettable experience. One downside is that you will need to rent a car to explore Marbella and its surroundings.
Final thoughts about these Marbella 5-star hotels
Overall, Marbella has fantastic accommodation options if you want to treat yourself and others to a lavish hotel experience.
I personally love Nobu for its location, restaurants, and atmosphere, but Anantara and Boho Club are gorgeous, too.
My top advice is to choose your hotel based on location. For example, if you want to stay close to Marbella’s Old Town, go for La Fonda Heritage Hotel Luxury or El Fuerte.
In contrast, if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre, book your stay at Nobu or Anantara.
Also, don’t forget to explore the beautiful coastline and historic old town! Some of these hotels are huge, and you might feel like staying in, but it’s worth getting out and immersing yourself in the place.
