Where to Eat in Ronda (Top Cafes and Restaurants!)

Ronda is one of my favourite autumn getaways. Not only is it only 1 hour from my hometown, but it has many things to do and see. Plus, the local food is incredibly good!

If Ronda is on your itinerary and you love food as much as I do, this guide on where to eat in Ronda is for you.

I’ve included my favourite cafes, bars, and restaurants so you have a few options to pick from, regardless of the time of the day you come.

Best places to eat in Ronda

Tejeringos Coffee

☕Best for breakfast

Tejeringos Coffee is a small coffee chain in Southern Spain, with most of its shops located in Malaga.

It’s my go-to place for churros. They’re spongy on the inside and crispy on the outside.

We traditionally have churros with the Spanish-style thick hot chocolate where we dip them.

However, if you don’t fancy having them with hot chocolate, this coffee shop offers other sauces to dip your churros in.

Some of the flavours are white chocolate, dulce de leche (caramel) and kinder. I love churros with dulce de leche.

Aren’t you into churros? Their sandwiches are pretty good, too. I usually order a Catalana, a sandwich with tomato and olive oil spread and Serrano ham.

I’ve also tried their croissants, but they aren’t as good as elsewhere.

Tejeringos Coffee in Ronda is next to Parador de Ronda and has plenty of seating: an outdoor terrace and two floors.

Sensur Gastrobar

🍝 Best for modern cuisine

I recently tried Sensur and was very happy with the food and service, so I had to include it in this guide.

The restaurant is big and beautifully decorated in a modern and elegant style.

It’s a great place to eat with your loved one, family or group of friends.

The prices are higher than in other restaurants, but this one is worth every penny.

They serve Spanish dishes with a twist without losing their essence.

My favourite starters are the ham croquettes topped with a slice of ham and potato salad with tuna tartar.

For the main, you can’t go wrong with their salmon dishes or pork loin. Both are equally delicious.

I usually prefer fish over meat, but on this occasion, I would have a tough choice between these two dishes.

I would also leave space for dessert. Don’t skip it; otherwise, you’ll miss out on their delicious cheesecake.

It’s probably one of the best I’ve had.

Personally, I think Sensur is one of the best restaurants in Ronda.

El Lechuguita

🥘Best for tapas

Do you want a cheap bar that serves good food? El Lechuguita is the one!

This traditional bar has been open since 1969. It’s a popular spot for locals and travellers. Don’t be surprised if you see a queue to get in.

Queues are also the norm because it’s a very small place, with a few tall tables and a bar.

When you sit down, the waiter will bring a piece of paper with all the tapas written on it. You need to tick off the ones you want and take the paper to the bar. The waiter will then bring the tapas to your table.

They’re small tapas, so you probably need 4 or 5, but most are priced just over a euro, which is a bargain.

I really liked the lively atmosphere and food. It’s a good place to have a light lunch or dinner unless you order many tapas!

O Melhor Croissant Da Minha Roa

🥐 Best for croissants

Croissant with jam and an orange juice.

If you love croissants, this cafe is definitely a must-try.

The first time I went, I didn’t know what to expect. I ordered a croissant with strawberry jam, and when I saw it, I was surprised by how big it was.

Despite being flaky and so delicious, I couldn’t finish it off. The girl behind the counter put the rest in a takeaway box.

I wasn’t feeling very adventurous, so I went for a classic flavour, but they have many more.

The price is higher than the average croissant but bear in mind that this one is quite big.

Confitería las Campanas

🍰 Best for pastries and cakes

This isn’t a place where you sit down to enjoy coffee and cakes but a traditional bakery where you can try some yummy treats.

They have a wide variety of biscuits, perfect for dunking in coffee or tea, eclairs, pastries, and more.

However, if you want to try a typical sweet from Ronda, get some yemas del tajo. These small balls made of egg yolk, sugar and water are lovely.

And this is the best place to get them!

Restaurante Panorámico at Catalonia Hotel

🍝 Best for food with a view

My favourite place to stay in Ronda is the Catalonia Hotel, and having stayed there, I’ve also had food at their restaurant.

It’s a great place to have delicious food with a view of Ronda bullring and mountains.

The dishes are beautifully presented and definitely catch your eye.

Their charcuterie board is fantastic, and it includes a wide variety of cold meats, cheese, nuts, and fruits.

For starters, I really enjoyed the Russian salad topped with prawns and saffron threads.

The only main course I tried was the salmon, which was nice.

For dessert, the chocolate cake with strawberry ice cream is popular for a reason. I’m not into ice cream, but I loved this one.

I had dinner here, but come at lunch if you want to enjoy the views.

Another way to see the beautiful views without eating is by ordering a drink from their bar.
