Where to Eat in Estepona (My Top Recommendations)
Estepona is famous for its historic centre, but if you’re on a hunt for the best places to eat, let me tell you that it doesn’t disappoint.
Despite being close, I don’t spend as much time in Estepona as other Costa del Sol towns such as Benalmadena and Marbella.
However, I like visiting it every now and then, and I always make sure to try somewhere new on my visit.
In this blog, I’ve compiled my favourite places to eat in Estepona. Whether you want a coffee with toast, fish dishes for lunch or ice cream, you’ll find it here.
These are places I’ve personally visited and paid for my meals. Not sponsored or collaborated with any of the businesses below.

Cafes in Estepona
MOM Brunch & Coffee

One of my favourite places to grab breakfast is MOM Brunch & Coffee, in the heart of Estepona old town. It’s aesthetically pleasing inside and out, and the food delivers too.
There are plenty of seats, including some overlooking their courtyard, where you can sit too.
I’ve had food and hot drinks a few times, and my top choices are the açaí bowl (very tasty and refreshing in the summer!), eggs royale, and pancakes.
Besides breakfast, they also offer delicious and healthy lunch options.
📍Address: C. San Antonio, 48, 29680 Estepona, Málaga
Berries Specialty Coffee

Located between the old town and the beach promenade, Berries is a small coffee shop serving breakfast, brunch and lunch options.
I came here once for breakfast and ordered the avocado with tomato spread and a poached egg on toast and a matcha.
While the poached egg could have been better, the toast was really nice. I especially loved how much avocado there was. I could also tell it was high-quality avocado.
I’ll be back to try other things on their menu. The eggs Benedict and the Philly steak sandwich sound nice.

Aroma Grab & Go Specialty Coffee

If you’re on the go, Aroma is a good spot to grab a coffee, hot drink or smoothie. There isn’t any seating as there’s only a window from where you order.
The menu mainly consists of drinks and small bakes like cookies.
Two of my favourite drinks are the chocostrawberry smoothie and matcha latte with coconut milk.

Restaurants in Estepona
La Casa del Rey

La Casa del Rey, next to the beautiful Plaza de las Flores, is one of my favourite places to eat in Estepona.
I keep coming back because the food and service are good, and the location and decor are fantastic too.
They serve a wide variety of foods, from traditional tapas like Ensaladilla Rusa (Russian Salad) and croquetas to mini burgers and generous main courses.
Some of the dishes I’ve enjoyed are the cheese board, langoustines wrapped in filo pastry, tortilla, mini beef burger and Caesar chicken salad.
I also had artichoke with salmorejo, but I think this was a seasonal dish since I didn’t see it last time.
If you are a wine lover, the wine menu is huge. They have shelves full of different types of wine inside.
In addition, they host wine tastings (they have more than 100 wines!).

La Bulla Gastrobar

La Bulla Gastrobar was recommended by a friend who lives in Estepona. My partner and I decided to go for dinner for my birthday, and it was such a great choice.
Not only is the restaurant’s decoration beautiful, but the food is exceptional. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations.
The menu is divided into a few sections, including ham and cheese boards, unique tapas, and meat, fish, and seafood. There are plenty of options to choose from. It took us a while to pick our dishes; we truly thought we could order so many things as everything sounded good to us.
We ended up ordering the scallops on spinach pesto, leek cream and AOVE caviar to share, and this is a bold statement, but they were the best scallops I’ve ever had.
For mains, we ordered two tuna dishes, the tuna belly and the wild red morrillo. They were spot-on and accompanied by seasonal vegetables and potatoes. If you love tuna, I highly recommend the tuna dishes, which are prepared with local almadraba tuna.
The dessert menu isn’t available online, so we asked for it there. If you love chocolate as much as my partner does, you’re spoilt for choice. I opted for the apple crumble cake with vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce, and it was very good.
Besides the food, the staff are very attentive and friendly. The only downside is the price, as main courses are about 25-30 euros.
My little tip is to skip the bread basket and olives, too. These aren’t complimentary; they charge you more than two euros for them. Simply say you don’t want any bread (if that’s the case!)

El Patio del Macarena

This local-approved bar in the centre of Estepona is a good option for tapas. The menu isn’t as extensive as in other places, but you’ll find popular dishes like croquetas, ensaladilla rusa, etc.
It isn’t very big, especially inside, so they set up tables outside. They have a courtyard, but when I asked the waiter, he said it only opens for private events such as birthdays, which is a bit of a shame.
Some of the dishes I can recommend are the prawn skewers (delicious and cheap!) and fried anchovies with lemon. I ordered the Pil Pil prawns too, but they lacked flavour; maybe it would have been better to order the ham croquetas.
While I’ve mainly eaten fish here, they also have the traditional montaditos (small sandwiches with different fillings), paella-style rice and other small bites.
Overall, it’s a good place to eat in Estepona, especially if you want to eat on a budget.

Ice cream parlours in Estepona
Heladería Da Vinci Estepona

When I googled the best ice cream places in Estepona, Heladería Da Vinci popped up in the top three so I knew my partner and I had to try it.
There are plenty of flavours to choose from, from fruity flavours like strawberry and mango to those who love chocolate.
We tried the banana and straciatella ice creams, and both were good, but the banana one was my winner.
I must mention that the portion is very generous, so a medium tub is enough even to share!
📍Address: P.º Marítimo Pedro Manrique, 23, 29680 Estepona, Málaga
Heladería Punto Dulce

This award-winning ice cream shop is definitely worth checking out. As happens with the one mentioned above, it has plenty of flavours.
My partner tried the mint and straciatella. I’m not a fan of mint, but it’s true that the straciatella is really good, even better than the one at Da Vinci. It was smoother.

Best bakeries in Estepona
Art Bakery at the Goya – Speciality Coffee pastries

Art Bakery, also found in Marbella and Benalmadena, has some of the best pastries and cakes.
Their croissants and lemon tarts with meringue are delicious.

Other traveller recommendations
All the places above are my recommendations based on my personal experience at each location.
However, I also wanted to include other friends’ and travellers’ recommendations that have good reviews. I hope to try them next time in Estepona.
- Churrería La Cordobesa. Traditional coffee shop serving the best churros in Estepona. Expect low prices and everything you’d find at a local cafe (churros, sandwiches like pitufos and catalanas, good coffee, milkshakes, etc.)
- La Escollera. Popular restaurant serving delicious fish and seafood in Estepona port.
