Who doesn’t love a good afternoon tea with your friends or partner? What used to be a British ritual, it has become a fancy meal in which you enjoy small bites of savoury and sweet food.
If you’re looking for a great afternoon tea in Leeds, in this blog, I’m going to tell you the best afternoon tea in the city, Fleur Cafe Leeds.
Disclaimer: My afternoon tea experience at Fleur Cafe was a PR invite. However, all opinions shared in this post are my own.
Afternoon Tea at Fleur Cafe Leeds
Located in The Light Leeds, Fleur Cafe is one of the most beautiful cafes in Leeds. You can tell by the name the theme decoration is all about flowers. The entrance of the cafe is beautifully decorated with wisteria flowers in purple, pink and white colours.
However, the interior is even more impressive – beautiful pink walls, pink tables, a swing, floral walls with cool neon lights, and a part of the ceiling is covered by hundreds of beautiful butterflies.
The cafe consists of two floors, the first one has “outdoor” seating and seating near the bar, and the second floor is often open for bigger groups or celebrations.
Not only is it instagrammable but the food is amazing too. The menu has been designed by Master Chef Bobby Geetha that includes a good variety of dishes you’ll want to eat again and again.
Fleur serves incredible breakfast and brunch, lunch and dinner and afternoon tea.
Breakfast and brunch options include savoury dishes such as shakshuka and avocado on toast and sweet treats such as pastries and breakfast bowls. The lunch and dinner menu has a bit of everything – from Italian focaccia to pretzel burger and crispy harissa chicken.
No matter what time of the day you go, you’ll enjoy the delicious food and friendly atmosphere. However, my favourite part of their menu is the afternoon tea.
If you’re after a unique and different afternoon tea from the traditional one, Fleur Cafe is perfect for you. The afternoon tea consists of three parts that go from savoury to sweet.
At the top of the tray, you have the savoury range – avocado and prawns mini brioche bun, pink chicken mayo wrap and the pink cheese samosas (served on a different plate).
In the middle, you have a good variety of tiny sweet treats that makes you feel intrigued and excited about eating them. Most of them consist of chocolate and nuts, but to be fair, it’s impossible to tell you the names of the sweets, I just know they all were delicious! Also, I can’t forget to mention the cupcakes topped with vanilla buttercream and cherry on the top. They’re super fluffy and melt in your mouth.
Last but not least, at the bottom of the tray, you’ll find scones with jam, cream and Nutella. No better way to finish your afternoon tea.
It includes tea and coffee of your choice for 19 pounds, or prosecco (£22) or champagne (£26). The afternoon tea is only served between 2 pm and 6 pm.
In addition to the lovely decoration, mouthwatering food and great atmosphere, the staff is very attentive and friendly. They’ll welcome you and look after you through your experience at Fleur.
